Actually we've always served Europe, and customers around the world. I am fortunate enough to get to travel to The Netherlands this weekend, and it even gets to be work related! I'm heading to the One Day SDN event on 12/14/2009 in Houten, The Netherlands. I will be delivering three presentations on Monday, here they are.
DotNetNuke, Advanced Template and Installation Configurations. An often overlooked feature that DNN provides is the ability to create and utilize Portal and Page templates within the framework. In this session we’ll cover some of the simple day to day uses for templates, as well as some of the more advanced scenarios in which templating can save you a lot of time. We will look at how DotNetNuke generates templates, and how you can extend them to be even more useful to meet your needs. We’ll also talk about how you can customize the DNN installation process/package to fit your needs, using templates and modules.
Creating a DotNetNuke Module for Facebook’s OpenStream API. This session will provide you with an introduction to creating a DNN Module using Facebook and Flickr APIs. We will develop a C# module using a Visual Studio template project accessing key information from Facebook’s API to show you a way to extend social networking onto your own website.
Handing off a DotNetNuke site, training your customers. As a developer or implementer of a DNN website one of the most difficult parts of the process is the handoff to your customer. To make this process as smooth as possible this session will provide you with some of the things we’ve learned from our DNN training and handoff processes with clients over the years. We’ll provide a list of the key concepts within DNN that should be conveyed with all project handoffs, and how best to include this in your delivery process.
If you are going to be at the event, be sure to bring a copy of my book, and I'll sign it! I won't be bringing any copies with me however as I am trying to travel light this trip! Perhaps I can find it in a store in Amsterdam and buy a copy to give away.
I'm getting in to Amsterdam on Saturday morning and plan to spend the day wandering around the city with my new camera taking in the sights. If you are local follow me on twitter, perhaps we can meet up while I'm out and about.
I want to say thanks to the folks at SDN for arranging this, I know I'm going to have a fun time!
